Where is the best place to park?
There is plenty of on-street parking in the area surrounding the start/finish area, but be aware that you may have to pay in some areas closer to the town centre. If you're not familiar with the area, look in the streets to the south of the start area off Willes Road, there will be signage. Please avoid parking on the course, in particular Newbold Terrace/Newbold Terrace East and Fernhill Drive. Also, please be courteous to local residents and avoid blocking access.
Are there showers/changing facilities?
There are no showers or changing facilities available, you are advised to arrive ready to run. There will however be portable toilets in the start/finish area.
Is there a limit on numbers?
Yes, this is set at 2,500. We have been over-subscribed in recent years, so you are advised to get your entry in early!
When will I get my race number?
We start to post out race packs around 3 weeks prior to the event, any race packs for entries after this time will be posted out as they are processed.
Must I be a member of a running club to enter?
Entries are open both to members of running clubs and non-members alike. If you are not a member of a UK Athletics Affiliated Club the entry cost is slightly higher. (Affiliated runners receive insurance for races through their club, non-affiliated runners do not).
What is the course like?
The route is around Leamington’s beautiful town centre parks and streets, on paved surfaces and some all-weather bridleway. You will receive more information on the course in your race pack, but the course is predominantly flat with good PB potential. There however are a couple of long gentle inclines in the first half. The finish is also slightly lower than the start so there is a net downhill! Fastest times are usually around 33 minutes!
What was the time of the last finisher last year?
The last finisher usually comes in around 1h 45.
It's race day, it's snowed overnight, is the event still on?
This is what happened for the 2008 race, we woke to a glorious morning with an inch of snow on the ground. In these kind of situations please remember that months of organisation have gone in to this event, we will only cancel the race if we absolutely have to. In this instance the snow on the ground had mostly melted in time for the start, and did not present any problems. For future events we will attempt to post on this website if a similar situation arises again, but please be aware that we will generally be out on the course and not have internet access. If there is no information here that the event has been cancelled, you should assume it is going ahead as planned.
